Former Zanzibar President, H.E. Dr. Amani Abeid Karume visited MUBS on Friday April 13, 2018 ahead of the Global Peace Conference. During his visit MUBS was declared a peace hub for Universities in Africa. The declaration was made by the Vice President for Strategic Partnerships, Global Peace Foundation, Mr. David Caprara.
This was during the visit of the former President of Zanzibar and Chair of Africa Leadership Mission of The School’s management style which has created a no striking culture in the Institution played an important role in earning MUBS the title in addition to its programmes like Leadership and governance and entrepreneurship which empower people and liberate them socially and economically.
H.E. Karume was in the Country to launch the Global Peace Leadership Conference which will be held between August 1- 3, 2018 in Uganda under the theme, “Moral and Innovative Leadership: New Models for Sustainable Peace and Development”.
The Deputy Principal Assoc. Prof. Moses Muhwezi noted that the importance of peace can’t be disputed and everyone wants to be happy and free from disturbances. He further noted that exclusion of all stakeholders in activities of the state could be one of the causes of conflict. He called upon all Ugandans to support the peace initiative.
