Bachelor of Entrepreneurship (BENT)
Introduction
In this proposed programme, the name “Bachelor of Entrepreneurship” replaces the previous “Bachelor of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management.” Entrepreneurship has become one of the most dynamic fields of study and professional practice globally. This is evidenced by international initiatives such as the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor and the Global Annual Entrepreneurship Conference, which emphasize the significance of entrepreneurial innovation in economic growth. Organizations like the United Nations Capital Development Fund have also embraced entrepreneurship development, further validating its global relevance. Countries such as China, Japan, South Africa, India, and the United States have adopted specialized entrepreneurship training at various academic levels, resulting in measurable socio-economic impact.
This programme therefore seeks to produce graduates equipped with the skills, creativity, and resilience to initiate and manage business ventures successfully, as well as to contribute to entrepreneurship policy and consultancy.
