Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM)
Introduction
The Master of Human Resource Management programme was introduced in 2004 under the Department of Human Resource Management and has since contributed to streamlining employment gaps in various sectors of the global economy. The programme was developed by MUBS, approved by Makerere University Council, and accredited by the National Council of Higher Education (NCHE) to prepare and graduate this calibre of Human Resource Management Professionals with a global competitive mindset.
Admission Requirements
Admission to the Master of Human Resource Management programme shall be in accordance with the general regulations of Makerere University Business School for Higher Degrees. An applicant must satisfy one of the following requirements:
- Possession of at least a Second Class Lower Division Honours Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent from a recognized and chartered university
- Possession of a relevant Postgraduate Diploma from a recognized and chartered institution
- Possession of full professional qualifications in any relevant field, subject to approval by the Board of Graduate Studies
Program Details
- The Master of Human Resource Management programme shall, under normal progress, extend over a period of two (2) years.
- Each academic year consists of two (2) semesters
- Each semester runs for seventeen (17) weeks, comprising fifteen (15) weeks of teaching and two (2) weeks of examinations
- A student who fails to complete the programme within the stipulated two (2) years shall be allowed an additional two (2) years to complete the programme
- Failure to complete the programme within the maximum allowed period shall lead to discontinuation in accordance with MUBS regulations
