Kawempe Muslim Secondary School Students Visit Makerere University Business School
The Career and Skills Development Office hosted one hundred ninety (190) students from Kawempe Muslim Secondary School on Saturday, 14th March 2026, for a career guidance and exposure visit. This engagement provided an opportunity to showcase our academic programs.
Mariam Nakigude, in charge Career and Skills Development office facilitated a comprehensive session on self-discovery, skill enhancement, and strategic planning, empowering students to make informed decisions about their academic and professional pursuits. Prof. Rogers Matama, Head of Department, Accounting, presented an in-depth analysis of Artificial Intelligence (AI) trends and implications, highlighting its far-reaching impact. He urged students to leverage their competence-based projects in driving creativity, innovation, and meaningful contributions to society.
Mr. Derick Ongom, a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Accounting and alumnus of Kawempe Muslim School, shared his experience with students, encouraging them to focus on developing good character and humility. He advised them to recognize their strengths and be open to learning new skills, which would help them clarify their career goals.
