ABOUT SMC
The Space Management Committee (SMC) is a committee of Makerere University Business School (MUBS) responsible for the effective planning, coordination, management and allocation of institutional space across the University.
The Committee oversees the allocation and utilization of spaces including staff offices, lecture rooms, meeting rooms, departmental spaces and other institutional facilities, ensuring that available space is utilized efficiently, transparently and in accordance with the University’s priorities and operational requirements.
WHAT WE DO
Space Allocation
Allocation of offices, lecture rooms and other university spaces fairly and transparent
Space Requests
Receive, review and coordinate requests for university space.
Teaching Spaces
Support effective allocation and utilization of lecture rooms and learning spaces.
Staff Offices
Coordinate staff office space requirements across departments
SPACE ALLOCATION

Applicant submits a space request with all required details
SMC reviews the request and requirements
Available space and university priorities are assessed
Approve space is allocated and communicated
