During the MUBS Career Exhibition at Buddo Secondary School, students received information about a wide range of programmes offered by MUBS, including Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Marketing, Procurement, and Information Technology.
The MUBS team explained admission requirements, scholarship opportunities, university life, and the practical skills students need to succeed in today’s competitive employment environment.
The exhibition attracted a large number of students interested in business-related programmes and different career pathways. MUBS staff conducted one-on-one guidance sessions, answered students’ questions, and shared experiences about university education, entrepreneurship, and career development.
MUBS Career and Skills Development Office Encourages Leadership
Ms. Mariam Nakigude, In-Charge of the Career and Skills Development Office at MUBS, addressed the students during an engaging session on career development and personal growth.
She emphasized leadership, innovation, and personal growth as important pillars for success in academics and life. She encouraged students to take initiative, develop problem-solving skills, and see themselves as future leaders.
Ms. Nakigude also challenged the learners to look beyond academic grades by developing their character, practical skills, confidence, and personal vision.

Mr. Owomugisha Jordan, Teaching Assistant in the Faculty of Commerce, took students through various MUBS programmes and explained the career prospects associated with different courses.
He highlighted the employment opportunities available to graduates and encouraged students to remain focused on their current studies.
“Concentrate on passing,” he told the students, emphasizing that academic performance is an important step toward university admission and achieving future career goals.
Mr. Ssekatawa Firdausi, Administrative Assistant in the Faculty of Economics, Energy and Management Science, also encouraged students to believe in themselves and pursue ambitious goals.
“Always have big dreams, because everyone is unique and can achieve their goals, vision and dreams.”
He reminded the students that achieving long-term goals begins with self-belief, determination, and taking consistent steps toward personal development.

Mr. Nathan Nuwagira, Assistant Administrator in the Office of Career and Skills Development, further introduced students to MUBS programmes and their associated career opportunities.
He explained the range of undergraduate programmes available at Makerere University Business School and the opportunities graduates can pursue after completing their studies.
He encouraged students to consider MUBS for their undergraduate education, highlighting the importance of acquiring practical skills that can support both employment and self-employment.

Mr. Okumu, Teaching Assistant in the Faculty of Economics, Energy and Management Science, encouraged students to seek appropriate guidance when applying for university and selecting their programmes.

“Do what you are best at,” he advised, noting that understanding one’s strengths can help students excel academically and build fulfilling careers.
