The MUBS Fair and Expo 2026 is a significant event that brings together students, young professionals and industry leaders to explorer career opportunities and advancement in technology and innovation. Genz career fair and expo 2026 organized by the MUBS Career and Skills Development Centre under the Office of the MUBS School Registrar’s Office on April 1ST, 2026 at MUBS Main Campus, Nakawa under the theme; Artificial Intelligence for employability. The event brought a wide range of participants interested in various fields, to showcase the latest in techno logical advancement and connect students with exciting opportunities in the future work.
Dr. Atukunda Ronnet, Dean Faculty of Economics and Energy Management Sciences represented the Principal asked the students to reflect why the expo is important, and it should be used as the practical platform to the students and the industries. Dr. Atukunda also informed the students that the expo is meant to expose them to real world and for them to learn from the industries. The Dean also urged the students to learn the ethics of using AI and to build connections that go beyond.Dr. Joshua Mugabwa, Dean Faculty Management represented the Ag. Deputy Principal said that the University students receive both the formal and informal curriculum, there are certain things that will not be taught in class and such expos are important since the employers engage with the students to the world of work. He urged students to know what they want for them to perfect their skills, values and attitudes and not abandon their domain since many students drop their studies thinking they are useless. He further assured them that AI will teach them to be patient.
Dr. Mugabwa advised the students to build connections with the employers and network with them to get the best knowledge. The keynote speaker, CEO Re-factory academy and Lecturer at Makerere University Mr. Michael Niyitegeka said that AI is replacing tasks but to take the entire jobs, new roles will emerge. He further said that opportunities are there however they need readiness, he encouraged the students to use their discipline. On the skills that matter, Mr. Niyitegeka said that students should know the tools to use to ask better questions, communicate and storytelling of AI insights, he asked them to invest in something they know, and to think of the space they can occupy. He appealed to the students to learn how AI works and begin to build a portfolio, the future of work belongs to those who learn faster than the world changes.
Ms. Mariam Nakigudde, in charge Career and Skills Development Centre office, advised the students to make use of the expo for them to change their lives through networking and making collaborations with the employers. She applauded the sponsors who always consider MUBS Students first and asked the students to always keep discipline.
The Expo concluded with panelist among them, Assoc. Prof. Samali Mlay, Head Department Applied Computing and Information technology, asked the students to adopt and learn how to use AI and to be creative. Mr. Jonathan Mukibi, Manager Insights and Analytics MTN Mobile Money said critical thinking is key, he advised the students to take advantage of the societal problems using AI. Ms. Chrisine Mawadri, Head of Strategy – NRG Radio urged the students to invest in themselves and learn new trends because it involves everyone. Meanwhile Ms. Sharon Isiagi Product Manager – Brighter Monday Uganda, said everyone has skills and experiences and should make use of them.
