This visit is part of the institutional capacity-strengthening and peer-learning process that emerged from the CO-CAT institutional capacity assessment in which participating institutions showcased areas of strong institutional capacity and areas that need further development. MUBS showed particular strengths in Policy and Institutional Engagement and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL).

Therefore, the visit offers the University of Lagos https://unilag.edu.ng/ an opportunity to learn from the experience, systems and good practices of MUBS in these two areas. The purpose of the engagement is meant to enable hands-on institutional learning, experience sharing and adaptation of relevant approaches to enhance climate adaptation research and improve its contribution to policy and practice.
