Sulait Tumwine is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Makerere University School of Business and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research at Mubs, a member of Mubs Top management, and a member of the subcommittee on graduate studies of Makerere University Senate, a member of the international business judge (Reimaginer) at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Prof. Tumwine has been in the teaching profession for more than 20 years. His teaching and research interests center on strategic costing, pricing, and managerial accounting; financial and cost modeling; and economic sustainability.
Assoc. Prof. Tumwine holds a PhD in behavioral accounting and a master’s in accounting & finance from Makerere University, a degree in business administration from Uganda Christian University – Mukono
Prof. Tumwine has published extensively, with more than 20 articles, one of which won a “Literati Award winner” for the best paper in Emerald in 2019. Tumwine is a reviewer for major accounting, economic, and management journals and a member of the editorial board. He has also supervised more than 20 postgraduate students.
Previously, Prof. Tumwine served as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies & Research and a member of the higher degrees committee at MUBS; a UASP-IREX member. Tumwine has a great passion for sharing what he knows, which is an essential ingredient for societal transformation and sustainable economic growth and development
