Dr. Rogers Mwesigwa is an Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Business Administration, Makerere University Business School. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2022, a senior lecturer in 2015 and a lecturer in 2012. He holds a PhD in project management, a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Makerere University. He is also a Certified Public Accountatnt.

Projects/Grant
In 2012, Dr. Rogers Mwesigwa worked as a project accountant on a project titled “Seeking and Integrating Citizen’s Views in Uganda’s Petroleum Bills/Laws” with the Water Governance Institute (WGI) funded by the Democratic Governance Facility (DGF)
In 2014, Dr. Rogers Mwesigwa worked as a Principal Investigator- on research titled Job Resources, Employee Creativity and Performance of Commercial Banks in Uganda funded by Makerere University Business School.
From 2015, Dr. Rogers Mwesigwa worked as a Project Accountant on the project titled Securing Water for Food (SWFF) with Water Governance Institute (WGI) which was funded by USAID
In 2016 – Dr. Rogers Mwesigwa was a Principal Investigator- on research titled Leadership Styles, Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment among Academic Staff in Public Universities funded by Makerere University Business School.
In 2017, Dr. Rogers Mwesigwa was a co-principal investigator on a project titled, Profiling Sustainable Entrepreneurship among Youth and Women Entrepreneurs. Funded by the Norwegian Agency of Development Corporation (NORAD)
In 2021, he was a Principal Investigator on a project titled Intensifying Public Private Partnership Projects in Uganda funded by Makerere University Research and Innovations Fund. In the same year, he was a co-principal investigator on the following projects- all funded by Makerere University Research and Innovations Fund. These attracted a total of 200M. they include;
- Strengthening business incubation practices for the sustainability of SMEs in Uganda,
- Reskilling Refugees on sustainable agribusiness practices
- strengthening institutional support for female entrepreneurial business sustainability in Uganda.
In 2023, Dr Mwesigwa and colleagues won a project titled Public Private Partnership Projects as a Tool for Sustainable Infrastructure development funded by MUBS Economic Forum.
In 2023, Dr. Mwesigwa and others won a project titled “An Assessment of Climate Change Adaptation Policy Implementation Towards Food Security in Uganda” A Case of the Karamoja Region. with the MUBS Economic Forum
In 2024, Dr. Mwesigwa and others won a project titled “Toward improving energy management of manufacturing enterprises in Uganda. A qualitative inquiry with the MUBS Economic Forum
In 2025, Dr. Mwesigwa and others won a project titled “completion rates of graduate students at Makerere University Business School with Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research.
Research Supervision
Dr. Mwesigwa has supervised over 50 master’s students. He is currently supervising eight PhD students.
